A Date With Zhao Yuan and Sim Hou

Since today Wai Kit's ITP orpit gave him a New Year 'Eve' early off, he asked me go watch Confession Of Pain. So I asked Simon and Zhao Yuan along too.

The night before, I told Simon and Zhao Yuan not to be late because the show's starting at 12.20pm. In the end, I was the one who was late. Anyway, we chiong down City Link into Suntec.

When we arrived, Wai Kit's face very black. But don't care him, we went in and just nice the show start.

After movie, we went to have Kentucky. We saw the Pledge Of Quality certificate and instantly we were reminded of the good old days. Then we talked about Ranjit, Cheryl Tang, and Mr Hafiz.

After the chicken feast, we decided to piak pool. Wai Kit suggested Marine Square, so we agreed.

We reached Marina Square but it was quite empty. Out of sudden this petite girl with a typical Singaporean look asked me to open a bottle of Mountain Dew. I must have looked really serious. As I was wearing my favourite Superman T-shirt, I gave her the Superman-Smile and popped it open Champagne-Style with my Willpower alone. She was shocked, and with her small hands barely holding my muscular bicep, she told me, "Too bad you don't look anything like Superman."

At first, we just piak pool for fun. We kept calling Zhao Yuan 'The Curse' because he either miscues or shoots the white bola into the deep hole. After that, we became really serious, so we had a tournament of sorts. The final standings is as follows :

Gold 1st : Hiap Seng
Silver 2nd : Wai Kit
Bronze 3rd : Simon
4th : Zhao Yuan

I don't know how I got first. Maybe it was the T-shirt.

After that, they went home while I went to get something from my friend.

I hope Santa Claus visits me tonight

Though I've been a fairly good but not so good boy this year, I still believe that Santa will visit me. And even though I don't really celebrate Christmas, I still believe that he will visit me and attempt to cast a Conversion spell on me. I can visualise it, Santa will say it before he casts the spell, "I'm sorry, sonny, but it's part of me and I can't help it." Then he will point his Barang-Barang choked full of presents at me, Hairy Potter style rather reluctantly-but-actually-he-wants-it, and shout, "Konver-mundo!" However, I still won't really celebrate Christmas.

I hope he comes through the window, because my flat doesn't have the chimney but only a machine called 'ELBA' that sucks the oil and smoke when I cook food. I also don't have a fireplace, except a altar that locates before Dua Peh Gong. I hope that he can come through the window, but he's Santa Claus so there shouldn't be any problem.

If he gives me a present, I will not accept it. Because CME told me not to accept gifts from strangers. Instead, I will demand him to make sure that my New Year Resolutions come true. These New Year Resolutions are being forwared to Guan Yin Ma weekly as well. But since I'm a Singaporean, no harm seeking for another miracle.

The New Year Resolutions are as follows :

Grow More Muscular
Grow Taller
Grow more Independent
24-hour protection for my family
24-hour protection for friends that are worthy of
Become more cleverer
Become more wiser
Become more handsum
Become more matured
Become more Elite
Get 5 points for every NAPFA station
Take better pictures
Watch better movies
Hear better music
Eat more Mee Pok
Eat more Pig Liver
Drink more Coffee
Drink more Green Tea (Don't know why Government hasn't banned this in view of the ageing population)
Travel the world
Take the Car Basic Theory
Get My Car License
Get the Taxi Vocational License (must wait till 30 years old first)
Get the Bus Driver License (Better be prepared)
Wear my Superman T-shirt and - Stop MRT track suicides, Eradicate MLM (Top Priority)
World Peace

The last bit is cliched but we all live in cliched world.

Merry Christmas to all and have a wonderful New Year.

Autumn Remembrance

Curse of The Golden Flower is an epic extravaganza, filled with great visuals and a stellar cast that doesn't disappoint - except for Jay Chou.

The story is based on Mu Shui's favourite movie, Lei Yu. It's a story of incest (accidental and non-accidental), jealousy, and power. No expenses were spared as the palace is wonderfully decorated and setup with details and colours.

Chow Yun-Fatt puts in a sinister and evil performance as the Emperor, while Gong Li is more than a match for Chow with her seasoned acting. Against the heavyweights, Jay Chou pales in comparison. In fact, his acting was much better in Initial D. There were moments where the audience were about to burst into laughter when Prince Jie (Jay Chou) had a heart-to-heart-talk with the Empress. Jay looks forced and unnatural. Much like his 7th album Still Fantasy, the ending song, Ju Hua Tai, was a song of redemption. A piece of poetic lyrics and a competent tune results in a fantastic song only made better with Jay Chou shedding the RnB-style of slurring, then replacing it with his once in a blue moon crystal-clear voice.

The ending looks undecided on the outside, but it actually leaves you thinking, only for you to realise that it is the ending. Curse is not your typical Wu Xia film. It is a gripping drama that never let go, and is a great drama of incest, love and struggles within an imperial family.

Today I go my Ah Ma house make RiceBall

Mid-winter (冬至) is coming. So my Ah Ma is making riceball to pray to the ancestors and Dua Peh Gong, Ti Gong, and Tu Di Gong etc.

I step inside the house only the baby cried. (My ah ma is a part-time babysitter) Do I really look like a monster? =(

The rain caused my Ah Ma's house ceiling to drip water. The water drip so much until the electricity became shorted, causing some of the rooms to lose its ability to illuminate.

Hard work accomplished.

Gay-Chou.Net Chalet 2006

The other time I asked my auntie who was in Taiwan to get this jigsaw puzzle, but it was too late. In the end, I still got it, and I won it fair and square. No wonder they say that if its yours, its yours.

Almost But Couldn't

Yesterday was supposed to be another 2.4 km run session with my polytechnicfriend, but the weather didn't like us so we postponed it.

Today, I ran alone. There was only this huge guy walking around the track and a Pest Control Uncle who always glanced at me when I ran past him.

I had wanted to cancel it. I even sms-ed my polytechnicfriend that I'm cancelling it. The wind was very big and the clouds were very black.

However, it was at that moment that Guan Yin Ma whispered into my ear and said, why should you let Lightning God control your destiny? I agreed with him/her. Since I was already at Bedok, I might as well just take the bus to the Stadium, take a huge leap of faith, and run.

The leap paid off. I clocked in at 10 minutes and 36 seconds. 6 seconds short of my personal best. If only I had gave my all in the ultimate lap. The clouds were gathering and lightning was lightning, but it still hasn't rain.

After the run, I perspired more than I did in the last two sessions combined. Sweat was dripping from my eyelashes and my clothes and pants were drenched. I rested for a while, but it still won't rain.

My ability to improve so much within such a short period proves only one thing. And that is I have a fairly good stamina inside me, but the funny thing is I have asthma. Next time, I should be breaking my personal best.

I took bus 31 back home and on the way I had Mee Pok Dry. After that, I had some Honeydew. Nowadays, the Honeydew no more Malaysia one, only got Australia one. Then just as I was about to walk home, it finally rained.

Bullied in her Own country =(

Molested in mall, but no one helped her
Straits Times
English
(c) 2006 Singapore Press Holdings Limited

EARLY last Saturday, sales officer S. M. Lim was setting up a Christmas display at the 7-Eleven store in Orchard Towers when a stranger came up from behind and slapped her on the buttocks.

When a stunned and outraged Miss Lim confronted the Caucasian man, she says that he merely 'smiled at me and asked, 'Why? You've never been touched by a man before?'

Miss Lim, 24, shouted for help and then approached the security officer at Orchard Towers, a building with many pubs and bars which are popular with tourists and expatriates. She wanted him to prevent her molester from leaving and to call the police. But no one offered help.

The security officer was even ordered by his superiors to mind his own business, she says. They told Miss Lim she should have known 'what kind of place Orchard Towers is'.

'When the Caucasian man heard them say this, he laughed at me and walked off,' Miss Lim said.

She lodged a police report last Monday and a CCTV recording of the molestation has been handed over to the police by 7-Eleven.

Said Miss Lim: 'What upset me most was how the security officers refused to help.' She has since approached the building's manager, Chesterton International, and the security guards' firm, King's Security.

Chesterton International senior executive director Patrick Foong said he would contact King's Security to find out what happened. He said: 'We apologise if our guards didn't seem helpful. If they are found guilty of not helping, they will be sacked.'

King's Security declined to comment.

All I want for Christmas is . . .

I like the classic feel to the camera. I have a older G5, but there's always a reason to upgrade. I thought about DSLR (Those damn big ones), but as my Father used to say, don't buy shoes that is too big for your feet.

While most may think that the PSP is a wiser choice, nothing beats Nintendo when it comes to solid gameplay. The only thing that appeals to me about the PSP is Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops. However, I still love my childish and fat Nintendo DS.

Where's the Xbox ah?

Here are the latest Japanese console hardware sales for the week of Nov 27 - Dec 3:

Games that still stand tall among the visual-fest-only that is of games nowadays.

I'm still using that broken-already-but-elephant-glued-back-donno-how-many-times-vacuum-cleaner. Time for a new one.

And last but not least . . .

A 4E4 class outing. Maybe we should go cycling or something simpler.

Many steps from me, One small leap in time

I know I haven't post for so long. But as they used to say, everything happens for a reason. You see, I've been preparing myself to be muscular and fit so as to excel in NS. Recently I struck a deal with my polytechnicfriend to run 2.4 kilometres every Tuesday and Thursday.

The first session was last Tuesday. I clocked in at 17 minutes. It seems that my polytechnicfriend was there to make myself feel superior because he only ran 800 metres.

Then the following Thursday came. Alas, illness brought me down, so it was cancelled. As GuanYinMa would have it, my polytechnicfriend contracted my illness too and we missed the Tuesday session. So all in all we missed two sessions.

However, today was a day of redemption. I clocked in at 13 minutes 16.2 seconds. Though its nothing to shout about, but :

(17 X 60) - (13 X 60 + 16.2) / (17 X 60) X 100 = 21.94117647 % Improvement

Statistically speaking my friend did better, because he ran 2 kilometres today. That's like ... never mind.

I started off strongly. Leaving my polytechnicfriend to eat the dust of my dust. I kept running past this Primary School Physical Education teacher. Too bad I couldn't see her clearly enough because my Visual Aid wasn't on. It's like GuanYinMa gave me a gift but he/she forgot to wrap it nicely. I also ran past Primary school kids. They are so cute that I feel so old out of a sudden. (See Fig.1)

As I was about to complete the Penultimate lap, I saw my polytechnicfriend in a distance. The distance was decreasing, and it made me feel like stopping. Fortunately, the Yeo Hiap Seng in me exploded, unleashing its potential into life, therefore propelling me forward into my ultimate lap, and finally completing the 2.4 kilometres run.

After the climax, I felt like I'm going to float anytime. You know the feeling. The feeling that you always have when you got off the best roller-coaster ride you just had. I strolled to the water cooler. Even the algae-infested outlet of the water couldn't stop the thirst in me.

Although there's like only 20% of improvement in such a short span of time, I feel that I can still do better. As they always say, there's always room for improvement. Next time I will just try to break my personal record of 10 minutes 30 seconds.

These few days my father's friend is in Singapore

So we went to some places, and I took some pictures.

Just now my Father asked me about my application for the best Polytechnic's overseas attachment. I was rejected. My Father was disappointed. Too bad that academic results isn't everything after all.

I hate giving him false hope. I've disappointed him far too many times in this lifetime.
