I did some acting again today

Look at my handsum classmate. In my course, I see handsum people everyday. Don't know why.

We were preparing for the MOE people and some Ang Moh from overseas to come over to see how we carry out our lesson and practicals. We were setting a standard for Singapore Polytechnic. Basically, what the Ang Moh is going to do is to write a report to the various Ministers.

After the session, I came to a conclusion. A conclusion that is Aeronautical students have finally met their match. The MOE people were more arrogant than us man. They don't give a shit about us and it totally feels like 'JayCee VS Polytechnic". My Father say that's because people who uses their brain are cleverer than those who use their hands everyday. I agree. That cannot be a lie.

I'm not sure even if we were needed. My lecturer did all the talking, which was a wonderful thing, and after it ended, he said it was a good job done. He was very happy.

I don't need to go IMH already

After yesterday's class excursion, I went to Lalaland within 5 minutes.

Don't know why.

I need to visit IMH

I just woke up.

I slept at 10pm but it felt like I slept at 3am.

Almost every night, I couldn't sleep.

I toss and turn for hours but I couldn't sleep.

I exercise 3 times a week, eat a lot, be happy, but I couldn't sleep.

I feel really tired but when I lay down, I couldn't sleep.

Yesterday & Today

- - -

Yesterday, I went to act in a documentary with Wai Kit and friends.

We had a hard time finding Mediacorp. Wai Kit kept complaining about the walk needed to reach there. I told him, now you how Extras feel like.

Then a really small bus brought us to the Toa Payoh Community Centre.

We were acting in a documentary about Terrorists' attacks. Pang BigHead told me the title is called, "Without Warning".

I think it was quite a good bonding-session for everyone.

I would like to thank Pang BigHead for providing me with such a rare opportunity to do some acting. It was a good experience and now I know how it feels like to be an actor. It's not easy and now I understand how Fann Wong and company feels everyday. But I still refuse to watch Mediacorp TV.

---

Today, I did Welding. It's part of my Aircraft Maintenance Practice module. It's a long name and I think it's really true and proven that longer means better.

Welding

Obviously I don't look that handsome. Thanks to Wikipedia for the picture.

My hand was trembling all the way as I did 4 different types of Welding. I even got a slight electric shock.

My teacher, a qualified welder with 30 years experience, told us that if we can do what he can do, life would be very miserable.

- - -

The Exams are coming. Seriously, for the first time, I think some studying is needed. Mainly because of two 'unknown' modules. The others like Engineering Mathematics and Mechanics, don't say I haolian okay, are relatively easy like ****.

Does this means I'm abnormal?

Am I going to die soon? Become retarded? This is the second time I've taken such tests and came out with the same result.

You are a middle brain dominant student!

You are open minded but not gullible about things or people. You may run into trouble making decisions sometimes, while your logical brain plays tug-of-war with your gut instinct. You enjoy the arts, but you could also do well in science and math. You appreciate the beauty of all things in life, and are well-rounded. Middle brain students would do well on The Apprentice, since they can have a strong mix of gut instinct and an appreciation for numbers. You would have a strong career in business, but you may not go that route; you may be more interested in studying the arts and sciences in college. You would be wise to read over the characteristics of left and right brain students and consider whether you fall into the traps of either type. For instance, extreme right brain dominant students can get too bogged down in thought, while extreme left brain students can be rigid in their views.

JayCee girl didn't look down on me

I boarded bus 13 but there weren't any seats. So like a good and obedient citizen, I walked to the rear and stood beside this JayCee girl who was seated on the outer-seat.

Surprisingly, she moved inside, like she could sense my presence.

At that point, I was very touched but I shy, never said thank you, and I sat down anyway.

Thank you JayCee girl for not looking down on me.

Damn it

Yesterday, I couldn't control my strength and I broke it.

I think this further proves that boys aren't made for sucking the floor.

Boy bullied by 5 girls in school

Boy bullied by 5 girls in school

MY FRIEND'S son, who is studying at a premier primary school in Bukit Timah, was a victim of bullying by five girls in his school.

The boy is an upper primary pupil, but of small build for his age.

The girls tied his hair, took a picture of him and posted it online. The picture has since been removed.

Apart from causing him embarrassment and emotional stress, the girls also attacked the boy physically by throwing water bottles at his genitals, causing him to cringe and cry due to the extreme pain.

My friend spoke to the principal, but did not lodge a police report because she did not want to have the girls' records blemished.

What is worrying about this incident is that the bullying took place in one of the most prestigious primary schools here, where the girls are likely to move on to premier secondary schools and be awarded scholarships.

Apart from focusing on bullying in secondary schools, the Ministry of Education should also look into rampant bullying in primary schools, and assure parents their children are safe in school.

Lai Ming Shan

It's okay, it's alright. The boy is just a late bloomer. Wait till everything finishes, and people will treat him differently.

Confidence will plunge to an all-time-low, he will be too scared to do anything, he will become ghey, but time will change everything.

Orh, so it's called Inferiority Complex

I looked into the mirror and talked to myself the other day and I came to realise this condition called Inferiority Complex.

There are such people in the Polytechnic.

People who wants to put you down, suck away your confidence, sap away your pride, and make you feel lousy.

It's like a kiddy version of Politics.

I'm just a below-average boy and if you need to do that, you are just a useless person and a good-for-nothing in life.

My Father always say that it's best to act blur and I think what he said is very true.

People can continue doing what they do to me, but as my Ah Ma always say, you can only milk that much milk from a cow.

The Time Has Come

The time has come for changes to be made. As they used to say, the new one doesn't come in without the old one going. I don't know the exact chinese phrase but never mind it's the meaning that counts.

This year, I got a new computer after 5 long years of using the old one. The best part was having one in my own room.

I subscribed to TIME magazine too, after about 2 years of reading National Geographic. The latter I'm still subscribed to, mainly because those two are very different things . People look at me reading such things and may think I'm trying to act clever but I think what they think is very true because half the time I don't have any idea what the article is talking about.

Recently, my Father got me a new pen. It's the same old pen I've been using for the past few years. Hopefully, this new pen, coupled with Guan Yin Ma, will help me achieve the best I can for my coming examinations as well as any future examinations.

People always say that my wallet is very big. It's not because I have lots of money, it's because I spend a lot thus resulting in all those receipts that filled it. Now, it's time to change a new wallet because this old one's zip (the one where coins are) is damaged. I can't believe I've used this for 4.5 years. The funniest part is that I bought this wallet at only $0.50. So is the price everything? I think it all depends on the quality of the user. My Father also used to say that it's best to keep the same wallet for as long as possible because constant changing of it reduces the amount of money you have.

So how am I going to replace it? It's easy. When I bought it, it was so cheap that I bought another one at the same $0.50 price, so basically I'm going to have a new one but it's the same one.

Last but not least, my pair of sandals. I've wore it for about 2 to 3 years. Now, the base has already flattened out due to the passage of time. Yesterday, I went to Royal Sporting House and saw a pair of sandals by Nikey that I like a lot. I will get it. It costs about $80 plus. There aren't much variety of sandals these days. Maybe because it's considered old-fashion and uncool already. I almost bought a German-brand one the other day. But thankfully it didn't have my size.

I feel so proud of Gay Chou today

Today, I went to Suntec City to have a walk.

Halfway through the walk, I heard the familiar introduction of a Gay Chou song.

At first, I couldn't believe my ears. Then it was at that pivotal moment where I looked down then did I saw a Chinese woman in a red dress, in a dance stance.

Then it occured to me that it is the 'Heritage Festival' that's been going on for the past few days.

Doesn't it seem too little too late to come up with such a thing? Perhaps other races might really learn something from it, but for the Chinese, I think it will do nothing more than ruffle a few feathers here and there.

The introduction continued, and so I discovered that it was the song, Huo Yan Jia. It's the song that goes, '霍霍霍霍 霍霍霍霍 霍!!!' (huo x 9). At that moment, I feel so proud of Gay Chou. The Chinese woman danced to the beat and music, and it looks like the same dance that Gay Chou did in the music video.

The dance ended to a thunderous applause. At that moment, I couldn't feel prouder for Gay Chou.

I love Black Coffee

I have it everyday since the secondary school days.

In many ways, it has help to improve my asthma condition.

My friends say it's bitter. I don't feel that it is because I don't eat that much sweet things in life.

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When all his former students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing each other's cups."

"Now consider this: Life is the coffee, and the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and do not change the quality of Life. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided."

So, don't let the cups drive you... enjoy the coffee instead.

Dead Man's Chest

Surprisingly, Dead Man's Chest is as good as the original.

From start till end (stay till the credits end for a really funny scene), Dead Man's Chest entertains. The comedy is there, the action never gets boring (except the sword fights, which gets repetitive), and the production values are excellent.

What makes the first part so good was Jack Sparrow. As usual, Johnny Depp puts in a great performance. While the rest of the cast are good, they are usually eating his dust. Orlando Bloom will never be a main star of a film. Keira Knightley is a chiobu and when she dons the pirate hat it makes her even more a chiobu. The only other character that stands out is Davy Jones. His on-screen presence makes you fear him just like how Jack Sparrow fears him. I also like Bill Turner's cameo appearance.

The makeup and special effects are also another main highlight of the movie. Davy Jones and his crew never looked like they are wearing any costumes.

If you have watched the first part, you will also notice some references to it.

Some hated the ending. But I think it was quite okay and was quite surprised by it too. The third part, At World's End, will be released next year.

Superman is real and must be taken seriously

Though the relatively-newly-bought T-shirt costs only SGD$5, I must say it has got some amazing magical effect that Kryptonite can't even stop.

I wore it today and did some pull-ups before going for my dinner. To my horror, I can now do Six pull-ups. But that's not the best part, I can do commando-pullups! It's like commando-pushup, just that I could do half of it in Mid-air!

Then I went for dinner. I had 2 vegetables(Bao Cai and Tofu) and 2 meat (AirPork and Chicken Feet). To my horror, I ate at a super fast speed. I finished everything in less than 5 minutes.

Still feeling hungry, I ordered Water-Feet-Soup (Prawn Dumpling Soup) to be taken away. Then the 19 years old Chicken boy at the stall asked me how old am I. I told him the truth. He seemed rather shocked. But how come no girls asked me how old am I before? At that fulcrumic moment, I think Zikry was right.

He went on to comment about the good food we have, and the fact that teenagers exercise a lot nowadays. There seems to be no link but if you give some careful thought to it, there actually is. Wow, the Superman costume actually made me look muscular.

But, the Superman costume still make me look like shit. Some of my friends told me before, if you look like shit you look like shit.

The Moral Of The Story : Wear the Superman costume more often.

Zinedine Zidane is the true hero

My Father and I betted on France to win the match. We lost but it's okay. Zinedine Zidane is the true hero.

He headbutted the Italian, who are racists, and most importantly, sore losers who looked down on Asians in the 2002 Fifa World Cup. He was most probably taunted by the opponent on his religion/race.

Once again, good job man Zidane!

A morning at Geylang Serai

Since I am a perennial good boy, I accompanied my Ah Ma to the Malay market at Geylang Serai today.

I think it's quite amazing how she have the strength to carry all the stuffs at her age. The fact that she can't really see clearly nowadays makes it even more tok kong. I'm sure you know how stubborn how old people can be. They most likely never admit that they are old.

I think, at my Ah Ma's age, I will be lying on bed all day long.

Because the other day, I had a backache after only washing the toilet and bathroom.

Is Hell Endothermic or Exothermic?

If you have forgotten, Exo means to give out.

I am amazed. I never know until now that what I have learned from Thermofluids can actually be used to solve questions. But unfortunately, I don't think I can solve the question above. Because what I learn I learn it by memory, not by understanding. After I read the answer given by the student, I think I need to be more creative and open-minded, and at the same time reconstruct my way of learning.

Dr. Schambaugh, of the University of Oklahoma School of Chemical Engineering, Final Exam question for May of 1997.

HELL- Dr. Schambaugh is known for asking questions such as, "why do airplanes fly?" on his final exams. His one and only final exam question in May 1997 for his Momentum, Heat and Mass Transfer II class was: "Is hell exothermic or endothermic? Support your answer with proof."

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following:

"First, We postulate that if souls exist, then they must have some mass. If they do, then a mole of souls can also have a mass. So, at what rate are souls moving into hell and at what rate are souls leaving? I think we can safely assume that once a soul gets to hell, it will not leave.

Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for souls entering hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, then you will go to hell. Since there are more than one of these religions and people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all people and souls go to hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in hell to increase exponentially.

Now, we look at the rate of change in volume in hell. Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in hell to stay the same, the ratio of the mass of souls and volume needs to stay constant. Two options exist:

1. If hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter hell, then the temperature and pressure in hell will increase until all hell breaks loose.
2. If hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until hell freezes over.

So which is it? If we accept the quote given to me by Theresa Manyan during Freshman year, "that it will be a cold night in hell before I sleep with you" and take into account the fact that I still have NOT succeeded in having sexual relations with her, then Option 2 cannot be true...Thus, hell is exothermic."

The student, Tim Graham, got the only A.
